Greatness, Leon Degrelle, and Donald J Trump

A Giant and a Pygmy.

Here is a good Counter-Currents essay on the importance of greatness for the Right.

In the comments thread, Proofreader quotes Leon Degrelle:

But we could look to the future with heads held high. History weighs the merit of men. Above worldly baseness, we had offered our youth against total immolation. We had fought for Europe, its faith, its civilization. We had reached the very height of sincerity and sacrifice. Sooner or later Europe and the world would have to recognize the justice of our cause and the purity of our gift.

For hate dies, dies suffocated by its own stupidity and mediocrity, but grandeur is eternal.

And we lived in grandeur.

Thank you for posting Degrelle’s comment. Sometimes a moral boost like that is necessary.

And I generally agree with the original post on greatness.  This is why I always say that EGI is necessary but not sufficient. After all, assuming you safeguard your racial survival, then what?  That’s a beginning, not an ending. One then has to look at Yockey’s idea of “actualizing a High Culture” – of achieving greatness on both the individual and the group levels.

EGI is the foundation.  Once the foundation is secure then you should build upon it, built up toward greatness, and storm the gates of heaven with your Faustian audacity.

Compare Degrelle to this.

Trump the Traitor is the antithesis of greatness.  AltRight.com is doing a fine job of outlining Trump’s perfidy, in contrast to Roissy and the 4-D Chessman of the Apocalypse and their heavy breathing spinning of the antics of their vulgar buffoon God Emperor.

Of course, in the end, it doesn’t really matter.  Even IF Trump’s latest cucking is all a game, and he goes  back to being the populist Trump of old, that’s just warmed over civic nationalism that, at its best, buys us time and expands the range of political possibilities in America (and at is worst will lull Whites to sleep and prevent further progress to the Right). In this best case scenario, we’d still have to view  Trump as a tool whose usefulness is over, we’d need to push things further rightward, and in the political sphere, take advantage of the openings in right-wing populism to have truly pro-White, explicitly White candidates running for office. And of course engage in metapolitics.  Later, more radical action will be required.

In the worst case scenario (more likely) that Trump will end up as a cucking fraud, we’d need to do all those same things anyway – view Trump as a tool whose usefulness is over, we’d need to push things further rightward, and in the political sphere, take advantage of the openings in right-wing populism to have truly pro-White, explicitly White candidates running for office. And of course engage in metapolitics – with more radical action later.

So, in the end, all of Roissy’s excuses and rationalizations (*) are meaningless.  By running a right-wing populist campaign, by inflaming the anti-White forces, by being elected despite being called a “fascist racist” Trump has already served his main purpose.  He may still do some positive things, but he’s the past – a vulgar superficial old man with antiquated wave-the-flag aracial American patriotism.

That’s not greatness. At best, it’s deluded and at worst its treason.

Leon Degrelle was a giant.  Donald Trump is a pygmy.

*Gamester commentators are truly a clueless bunch; now they are trying to defend Trump by comparing him to Reagan of all people!  The “analysis” goes something like this: “Reagan started out slowly, but by 1984 the economy picked up and we all started to make the big money.”  Well then, it’s all about economic growth, isn’t it?  Race be damned!  Let’s forget about the 1986 amnesty, high legal immigration, political correctness and other forms of Cultural Marxism growing unchecked, real welfare reform needing to wait until Slick Willie, Martin King gets a holiday while Robert Mathews is burned alive – the ‘80s what a time, eh?  Reagan is the prototypical Man on White Horse failure, and if Trump fanboys want to equate their God Emperor to Ronnie Raygun, go right ahead.  A fine and accurate comparison if you ask me.  And what do Trump, Reagan, and the earlier fraud Nixon also have in common?  They all groveled to China as well as to Israel – Asians and Jews, Jews and Asians, it’s all one.
